Order: hand embroidered pillow

A custom made pillow, for her friend's wedding:

The words are hand embroidered as per customer request

This is my 1st attempt at hand embroidered pillow, so there's no variation for the stitch. Yeah, I only use chain stitch! And since she chose flower-theme, I decide on 3-leaf clover motif for the felt embellishment. I think they compliment the hand embroidery well. Don't you think so?

Anyway, I hope they love it!

Note to self: need to find tutorials for other stitch later!

I like the overall composition. How the flowers and clovers are used as border. The color combo of pink + white + blue & green works nicely together.

I just think that perhaps there wasn't enough white-space around the lettering on both sides. Maybe if the lettering is proportionately smaller, it will look better?

Of course, that's just my opinion. Anyway, good job! = )

Thanks kō. Yupp.. I totally agree with you! Everything should be proportionately smaller.

I thought the white-space was just enough. That is until I stuffed it with fiber :)

Anyway, thanks for sharing your opinion!

Thanks Fa'izah & aieentheprincess! You can find the basic stitch tutorial here http://www.purlbee.com/embroidery-tutorial/
and more tutorial here http://stitchschool.blogspot.com/search/label/tutorial

I'm just a beginner in hand embroidery, but here are a few tips you can keep in mind.

1. It is important to draw your text exactly as you want it to be. Use air erasable pen. Basic sketch doesn't work for me. It made the text go wonky. And I have to restitch~

2. I use DMC embroidery floss for this project. Vary the number of strands to make a thick and fine line.

Well, that's all I can think about :) Good luck trying!
